I am a certified, trained and experienced professional newborn specialist who will provide you the tools you need for establishing an optimal sleep, eat, and play routine. I will care for your newborn while you concentrate on resting and healing.

I am delighted to work with newborn singles and twins, toddlers and preschoolers as well as all elementary ages. I have worked with older children who were middle school aged, along with a couple of high school boys and a girl. I have extensive experience as a substitute teacher in two school systems. Yes. Night care has an eight-hour minimum, typically 10 pm to 6 am or 11 pm to 7 am. During the night I change and feed the baby, or bring the baby to mom to nurse, then burp, settle the baby back to sleep, and keep a log of the night.
I serve families across the Washington, DC area and am based in Glover Park, DC, just north of Georgetown. I also travel with families and can help in Maryland and Northern Virginia.
No. A Newborn Care Specialist and a Postpartum Doula are not Registered Nurses. This field has traditionally been referred to as a “baby nurse” or “newborn nurse.”
